This study aims to identify the issues in the safety and health education system for the domestic construction industry by reviewing the existing system and conducting a survey at actual construction sites. Based on the identified problems, this study investigates the safety and health education system in the overseas construction industry and suggests the direction of improvement of the domestic system. This study proceeded in the following three steps. (1) Survey on the status of construction workers and managers; (2) Analysis of survey and derivation of problems in the safety and health education system; (3) Case study on overseas safety and health education system in construction and Suggestions for the improvement directions. As a result of this study, the following four problems could be derived for the safety and health education system in the domestic construction industry. (1) Construction site workers have a large number of people moving to the site and must complete safety and health education in duplicate. (2) Workers have low need and satisfaction for current education. (3) Since safety and health education is conducted on the site, not by specialized institutions. (4) Since it is difficult to classify each subject of education at the construction site. It is necessary to consider the pre-training by specialized institutions for worker’s specialty.
