As an important public cultural space in the city, the importance of public libraries is becoming increasingly prominent in modern society. As people"s expectations of the role of libraries become increasingly diversified, public libraries are facing the challenges of spatial reorganization and adjustment. In order to effectively respond to these changes, scientific and theoretical research is necessary. The spatial characteristics of modern public libraries can be summarized as functionality, community, diversity and experience. In addition, by analyzing the three dimensions of drama, authenticity and legitimacy of urban scene theory, the applicable spatial characteristics of modern public libraries are obtained, and spatial planning and construction strategies are proposed based on this.
Through preliminary research, investigation and analysis, the performance of urban scene theory in modern public library space is examined, and the spatial characteristics of urban scene theory in modern public libraries are summarized, including aesthetic symbol expression, cultural resonance experience, and spatial value diversification. Through detailed analysis of specific cases, this study evaluates the actual creation methods of urban scene theory in modern public library space. Applying urban scene theory to modern public library space can plan and manage the spatial strategy of public libraries in a more macroscopic way from the perspective of regional development, and also realize spatial production guided by cultural needs by strengthening cultural symbols and scene shaping. This spatial planning method with culture as the core provides an important theoretical basis and practical reference for the spatial construction and future development of modern public libraries, and further enhances the status and influence of public libraries in cities.
