This study utilized the DEA analysis technique, which is widely used in efficiency measurement in the public sector, to measure the relative efficiency of the municipal waste collection/transport management service in 15 cities, counties and local governments in Chungcheongnam-do.
According to the empirical analysis results using DEA, 3 local governments in the CCR analysis model and 5 local governments in the BCC analysis model showed 100% efficiency. These local governments can be said to be more efficient in manpower deployment and equipment management than other local governments, and can serve as a reference group for other local governments to refer to their management types.
Based on this study, it will be possible to prepare the efficient use of manpower and equipment for each local government"s municipal waste treatment services and to suggest directions for improving raw waste collection and transportation management services.
