This paper explores W.B. Yeats’s profound engagement with the theme of reincarnation in his literary works. Yeats’s immersion in mysticism and esoteric philosophies shaped his worldview, leading him to believe that souls are reborn into various forms, continuing their journey through perpetual cycles of reincarnation. By analyzing selected poems, the study investigates how Yeats’s belief in reincarnation addresses the cyclical nature of souls in the afterlife. The concept of reincarnation in Yeats’s works manifests in multiple facets. “Sailing to Byzantium” symbolizes reincarnation as enduring art rather than life’s repetition. In “Mohini Chatterjee,” Yeats depicts the soul’s reincarnation into various forms. Similarly, “The Phases of the Moon” emphasizes the soul’s transformation in harmony with time’s cycles. In addition to the works mentioned in this research, many of Yeats’s writings address the theme of reincarnation. This theme is inherently complex, necessitating continued research to deepen our understanding. This study explores how Yeats articulates his conviction regarding reincarnation and how his spiritual beliefs influenced his literary works. The works of the poet, who was more interested in spiritual matters than material concerns, offer modern readers a richer spiritual perspective.
