This study aims to suggest the balance and development direction of future research on color-based drawing tests by analyzing the research trend of drawing tests using color. The drawing tests to be analyzed are LMT, PPAT, FSA, FKW, BND, and RDT, a total of 142 papers published from 1994 to 2021. Analysis criteria were classified and analyzed for each area, such as publication year, research topic, research subject, research method, scorer rating, and color index. As a result of the study, first, as the research type of the master’s thesis, the most research was conducted between 2011 and 2015, and there was a lot of research on PPAT in particular. Second, the subject of the study was the emotional domain the most. Third, the majority of the study subjects were children, and it was found that the general group and the maladapted group were mainly studied. Fourth, the quantitative research method was mainly used as the research method. Fifth, in the scorer rating, the degree of agreement between the scorers was analyzed through Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and the number of scorers was the highest with three. Sixth, most of the color indicators were used, and it was found that the degree of coloring was analyzed the most among the color indicators. These research results provided basic data according to the types of drawing tests using color and suggested the direction of systematic and effective research for follow-up research.
