This study aims to suggest Pohang marine sports academy development plans through literature review, in-depth interviews with interested parties and SWOT analysis. The development plans extracted are as follows. First, it is required to develop the Pohang marine sports academy as a Mecca of non-powered marine leisure tourism. Second, there is a need to construct an integrated school sports model through collaboration among the Pohang marine sports academy, Pohang Sports Council and elementary, middle and high schools in Pohang City. Third, four-season programs should be developed. Fourth, it is needed to implement education programs on a regular basis in collaboration with schools in Pohang City. Fifth, problems caused by water pollution should be improved by using artificial surfing grounds. Sixth, there is a need to create a collaboration structure with private organizations by developing the Pohang marine sports academy’s own independent programs. Seventh, the academy needs to focus on attracting visitors during the summer season in collaboration with similar competitors. Eighth, marine academy management plans for schools and companies have to be devised by remedying the infrastructure of the Pohang marine sports academy.
