The objective of this research is to present a scheme to facilitate and manage local sports science center for athletes development by spreading sports science support system currently centered on Korea Institute of Sport Science nationwide. This ultimately aims to achieve the policy goal of discovering and nurturing of talented players by using the infrastructure of sports in the region. For this purpose, in this study, we analyzed the current status of sports science support in the region and the cases abroad. Based on the study, we came up with the sports science support measures and set the vision and goals of future business, the basic direction, strategy and business operations plans. We came to a following conclusion with the cases of major foreign countries and the study of domestic cases. The sports science of Korea is more based on the centralized assistance with the focus on national players although a certain level of a assistance has been given in the stages of discovering or nurturing players or by the level of players. Therefore, sports science support of Korea in the future should be done by spreading sports science support system based on centralized support for national players nationwide. With this, it is necessary to promote competitiveness and to secure excellent player pool by developing players in the region through sports science support. The answer to the issue is a sports science center operation scheme.
