This paper presents analysis of series resonant induction heat using state-plane diagram approach. The state-plane diagram represents steady state operation of the proposed circuit in normalization form. The precise steady state waveforms of inductor current and capacitor voltage can be derived from this approach. The paper also shows that the power delivered to the load can be controlled by using switching frequency control. The analysis is done in both continuous and discontinuous mode (CCM and DCM) of operations. The characteristics of normalized output power will be provided by the analysis. Design example and computer simulation are also given to confirm the analytical work.
