This study developed a textile design that merges traditional geometric patterns with 2024 fashion trends. The design"s traditional geometric patterns were inspired by motifs extracted from various Goryeo and Joseon dynasty textiles, including excavated relics, royal garments, and artifacts inside Buddhist statues. These patterns were broadly categorized as lines, circles, fans, and polygons. Diamond and hexagon patterns were particularly prevalent during the Goryeo and Joseon dynasties. "Granpacore," a trend that favors a comfortable retro mood, is currently attracting attention. The design draws inspiration from the "Granpacore" trend, characterized by a relaxed silhouette, classic patterns, including plaid, and a multi-colored aesthetic. In this study, geometric patterns appearing in traditional textiles were reinterpreted by mixing them with a retro mood, and 11 types of textile designs were developed based on the formativeness of geometric patterns. The colors were based on the latest color palette for 2024 S/S and 2024-2025 F/W proposed by Pantone and were combined with the Granpacore mood. Designs that combine various patterns, such as 〈Textile Design Ⅰ, Ⅴ, Ⅵ〉, can delicately express the feel of traditional textiles through printing.〈Textile Design Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ〉, which emphasizes lines, can be produced with fabric using weaving and machine embroidery. 〈Textile Design Ⅶ, Ⅷ, Ⅺ〉, composed of a combination of polygons, can be applied as a knit. The developed textile design was mapped to six daily Hanbok designs and simulated for each design. This study demonstrates the potential for creating trend-relevant textile designs by utilizing the inherent characteristics of traditional patterns. The growing interest in unique daily Hanbok and textile designs highlights the research value in expanding the versatility of conventional patterns.
