The purpose of this study is to identify inconveniences and needs that arise when using toner pad containers through a survey of toner pad users and propose a new toner pad container design. As the demand for multi-functional cosmetics increases, toner pad products that can achieve various effects with a single pad are attracting attention. Accordingly, various studies are being conducted on the contents of toner pads, but it is difficult to find prior research on container development, which is a factor closely related to users'' product satisfaction. Accordingly, this study first examines the role of cosmetic containers through literature research and identifies trends and container structures of domestic toner pad products. Second, in order to identify problems and needs that arise when using toner pad containers, we conduct quantitative surveys and in-depth interviews with toner pad users within the past six months. Third, based on the identified needs, we propose a hybrid container design concept that combines the advantages of two types of containers, screw type and one-touch type. The hybrid type container combines the high content protection of a screw type container and the high usability of a one-touch type container. The user can use the container while maintaining the connection between the lid and the outer container by rotating and then lifting in a form that combines the rotation method of a screw-type container and the lifting method of a one-touch type container. In addition, the introduction of the rib structure of the lid eliminated lead and foam, and improved environmental integrity by reducing the container composition. The container was prototyped through 3D printing to confirm its operation, and ultimately, through expert evaluation, it was confirmed that usability, content protection, and environmental integrity were improved compared to existing containers. This study is expected to be used as basic data for the development of various container designs in the future by proposing a new structural design for toner pads.
