Changes in culture, society, and economy in the post corona era have had a great impact on fashion, and in particular, cases of head ornaments in fashion collections have increased rapidly since the pandemic. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to analyze the types and characteristics of head ornaments in fashion, focusing on the relationship with changes in the post corona era. To this end, this study collected keywords from previous studies and related articles to analyze changes and fashion in the post corona era, and analyzed the types and characteristics of head ornaments by collecting examples of post-pandemic collections. The conclusion of the study is as follows. First, the representative keywords in the post corona era are ‘untact’ and ‘ontact’ related to culture, ‘coronaphobia’ and ‘Homo Maskus’ related to society, and ‘homeconomy'' and ‘spendemic’ related to economy. They have heightened interest in ‘digital’, ‘virtual’, ‘genderless’, ‘home wear’, ‘athleisure’, ‘mask’, ‘sustainability’, ‘sharing’, and ‘luxury’ fashion. Second, the types of head ornaments that appeared frequently were analyzed as masks, balaclavas, helmets, brimmers, and objet hats, and these mainly expanded the expression area of the human body through exaggerated forms. Third, the characteristics of head ornaments in the post corona era appeared as protection from the environment, cultural symbolism, gender deconstruction, and surreal and virtual reality. They are deeply related to social and cultural changes such as ‘coronaphobia’, ‘Homo Maskus’, ‘genderless’, ‘digital’, and ‘virtual’. The fundamental protective characteristics of head ornaments are re-emerged, and the mask itself has become a symbolic medium of the pandemic. Head ornaments play a role in deconstructing gender, and as the expression of surreal and virtual reality is emphasized, experimental attempts such as NFTs are expected to expand. This research is a study on head ornaments, which has been insufficient, and it is particularly meaningful to identify the influence on fashion caused by the pandemic through the trend of head ornaments.
