This experimental investigation was conducted to observe the thermal behaviors of the reinforced concrete (RC) beams with externally post-tensioned (EPT) steel rods at fire exposure. A total of three specimens were prepared and tested to fail in a horizontal heating furnace. First specimen was tested without external post-tensioned steel rods, while second and third one were with externally post-tensioned steel rods of 22mm in diameter. Also, third specimen’s steel rods were insulated with ceramic wool during the test. The test results indicated that applying a strengthening method to RC beams with externally post-tensioned steel rods with insulation can delay the rapid increase in deflection of the RC beams by approximately 30 minutes. Additionally, it confirmed a preventive effect of over 27% in total deflection.
