This study applies fractal rhythms to black box theater to explore the diversity of stage and audience space. Today’s theaters operate on only a few axes, which seems to limit the stage and audience variability that can be applied to future production methods and theater forms. As a research object, we analyze the variability of the currently operating Schaubühne Theater in Berlin, with its floor puzzle module system and stage and seats. To this end, we transform the floor module system of the Schaubühne Theater and introduce fractal rhythms to analyze the variability of the stage and seat spaces. The results show that the modularity of self-similarity, nonlinearity, and randomness of the stage and seats shows the possibility of stage and seat variability that can be adapted to future production methods and theater forms, although it requires securing economy and safety.
