Recently, there has been a noteworthy surge in the adoption of the "Necessary Condition Analysis (NCA)" methodology across various social science research domains. Specifically, this emerging data science technique has gained attention in previous international studies concentrating on supply chain and production and operations management. Nevertheless, its application in Korean research domains remains limited, with only a few studies employing the NCA methodology. Therefore, this study introduces the theoretical underpinnings of the NCA methodology, as introduced by Yan Dul in 2016, along with its analytical procedure and application in the fields of supply chain management and operations management. We discuss the feasibility and potential application of the NCA methodology in Korean research concerning supply chain management.
