The purpose of this study is to plan a community facility where various generations living in an apartment house can interact in a common space and complement each other as a social community. Due to rapid industrialization, social problems such as increasing individualism, family dissolution, aging population and low birthrate are occurring. As a result, the demand for facilities for children and the elderly has increased, and the conflict between generations has emerged as an important issue. The care of children and the elderly is no longer the domain of the family, but of the community and the state, and they hope to receive appropriate care services within their own housing. Community facilities in apartment houses, where more than 60% of Koreans live, have been continuously developed, but they are only built individually for each generation. Therefore, this study derives the concept and characteristics of generation exchange through theoretical considerations and previous studies, and investigates cases. By reflecting these characteristics, it is expected to develop community facility spaces that activate generation exchange.
