This study explored the experiences of work-family compatibility among shift work nurses concurrently raising first child under 3 years old. Employing a qualitative research design with a phenomenological approach, indepth interviews were conducted from August 1, 2015, to September 30, 2016. Purposive sampling identified seven clinical nurses actively engaged in raising first child under 3 years old. Colazzi"s method of data analysis revealed five key categories: (a) Suffer an identity crisis, (b) Exhaustion due to the burden of an excessive life, (c) A gloomy feeling that things won"t get better, (d) Providing support, (e) A step forward for growth. The findings emphasize the need for effective organizational support management, suggesting the development of programs that foster an inclusive culture and recognize gender equality. Understanding the unique challenges faced by shift work nurses during raising first child under 3 years old is crucial for enhancing workplace satisfaction and promoting the overall well-being of both nurses and their families.
