This study selected a total of 32 men in their 20s to 50s, 8 men from each group(20s, 30s, 40s, 50s), with at least 3 years of resistance exercise experience to analyze differences in blood lactic acid concentration and delayed onset muscle pain from performing 60% 1RM barbell curl exercise for 4 weeks for each age group. As a pre-test, the 1RM of the barbell curl was measured, and after 7 days, 5 sets of max imum repetitions of the barbell curl were performed once a week for 4 weeks with a load of 60% 1RM. Blood lactic acid concentration and delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) were measured between experiments. Variables according to measurement period and number of works for each age group were analyzed using repeated measurement two-way ANOVA, and if there was a significant difference, the post-hoc bonferroni method was applied to obtain the following results. In summary, the blood lactic acid concentration during 4 weeks of 60% 1RM barbell curl exercise for each age group was higher after exercise than before exercise in all weeks, but the blood lactate concentration after exercise tended to decrease relatively over the time in all age groups. Delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) also showed a tendency to decrease in all age groups, except for week 1. The weekly value for 4 weeks also showed a significant decrease in all age groups in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd periods, showing a 60% decrease. It was found that physical adaptation to the exercise intensity for the maximum repetition exercise was achieved within 4 weeks in all age groups.
