The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on Korea. In particular, tourists' perception of Jeju Island changed during COVID-19. During the COVID-19 period, the number of Korean tourists on Jeju Island maintained or increased. However, in order to return to a new tourism market when regulations on overseas travel are gradually being lifted, research on the level of awareness of the Jeju tourism market is needed. Therefore, this study investigates the changes in the perceptiom of tourists scheduled to visit Jeju Island through the deregulation of COVID-19, and to propose the need for various policy changes for tourists visiting Jeju Island. This study was conducted for about 40 days from August 9 to September 17, 2021. An online survey was conducted on 1,500 potential Korean tourists who were scheduled to visit Jeju Island after COVID-19. As a method for analyzing the survey of potential tourists, frequency analysis by question was conducted, and SPSS 23, a statistical program package, was used as a tool for analysis. The main results are as follows. Due to COVID-19, awareness of hygiene and safety was higher than before. As an implication of this study, it is proposed to create tourism policies and tourism products for small tourists on Jeju Island due to COVID-19, and various policies related to this should be promoted.
