Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the factors affecting Korean nurses’ first job resignation within one year. Methods: This is a secondary data analysis using Beta version of 2020Fraduates Occupational Mobility Survey (2019GOMS). Descriptive analysis, Kaplan-Meier curves, log-rank test, logistic regression, and cox-regression were used for data analysis. Results: Those who did not resign within one year showed significant higher age (p<.001) and number of working months (p<.001). There are no significant differences in benefits and satisfaction at the first job as a nurse. Subjects who responded that paid leave was given (p<.018) or that the work level was lower than the educational level (p<.035) left the company later. People who were satisfied with their relationships or with the autonomy and authority of their duty worked longer than those who were not. For those who answered that there is no potential for personal development, dissatisfied with relationship or social reputation of nurses were more likely to quit the first job within one year. Conclusion: In order to extend working months, hospital should consider to provide paid leave and examine work-educational level concordance. Also, relationship, work autonomy and authority of their duty, and social reputation of nurses have an important role to resignation of the first job of nurses.
