This study examines the message contained in Keigo Higashinoines the message through an analysis of the older and younger generations, who demonstrate contradictions while solving the case. While the older generation repeatedlycovers up incidents and raises the risk of bigger disaster, the young people confront the problems and actively solve them. The work reveals Higashino’s expectations from those who lead Japanese society after the disaster, that is the younger generation. Furthermore, it presents a new direction for the post-disaster society.
