On May 27, 2021, the Republic of Korea signed the US-led Artemis Accords. The signing of the Accords is significant as it establishes a framework for international cooperation to participate in the Artemis program, a manned lunar exploration program send astronauts to the Moon. However, in order to enjoy the honor of positioning at the forefront of human space exploration with space faring states, actual participation in the Artemis program is required beyond the conclusion of the Accords. As a follow-up to the Accords, it is necessary to enact a domestic law that gives space entities the right to explore and utilize space resources. This paper aims to broaden the understanding of the Artemis Accords by organizing issues on it, and presents the significance of Korea’s signing on the Accords and future tasks.
