The purpose of this paper is to investigate the reception of Chinese May 4th New Literature during the Japanese colonial period, and explore the modern reception of China as a medium. With the historical reorganization of the "cultural pattern" in East Asia in modern times, for the Korean Peninsula, China has gradually changed from the political totem of the object of the "flunkeyism" to the heterogeneous "other". However, some Korean intellectuals were not bound by the hegemony of Japanese colonial rule. Instead, they paid circuitous attention to the May 4th literary revolution and journalism through the retranslation of Japanese works related to Chinese journalism on the basis of "joint consciousness" with China. Therefore, they put forward the dual goals of anti-colonization and the pursuit of modernity, trying to re-examine the "May 4th China" from the perspective of world history. In particular, while establishing the main understanding of China, we should pay attention to the May 4th Journalism Movement and try to take it as a model of the Korean New Culture Movement. Among them, Hu Shi, Chen Duxiu, Lu Xun and other representatives who have received much attention. Li Donggu, Liang Jianzhi, Ding Laidong and other Korean intellectuals have made efforts to "synchronize and cooperate" with Chinese new writers. While strengthening the ideological connection, a double consensus has been formed in terms of theory and creation. In Hu Shi"s writings and literary history writing, Chen Douxiu"s implementation plan and promotion direction of the New Culture Movement, Lu Xun"s national criticism and resistance consciousness and the Korean reconstruction of the cultural image of madman have become the factors that stimulate the development of Korean literature during the Japanese colonial period.
