This study aims to identify the types of participants and visitors and the differences in their selection attributes, by studying the venue preferences of the SCUBA diving exhibition participants and visitors to the SPOEX(International Sports & Leisure Industry Show), which is a domestic sports exhibition convention, based on their participation characteristic to such sports exhibition convention.
Borrowing from the previous studies, this study drew result from the hypothesis on venue preference based on the participation motivation of the participant and their selection attribute.
The first hypothesis was on the type of participant: "The venue preference, satisfaction level and loyalty will differ according to the type of convention participant". The analysis on this hypothesis showed that while there was no significant difference in venue preference, there was meaningful difference in the satisfaction level and loyalty.
The second hypothesis was on the motivation for participation: "The venue preference, satisfaction level and loyalty will differ according to the motivation of the participant".For this hypothesis, all three showed valid difference so all three were adopted.
The third hypothesis was on the preference for the venue: "The satisfaction level and loyalty will differ according to the convention participant’s preference for the venue. "The analysis on this hypothesis showed that there is no significant difference in terms of facility satisfaction and human service, so the hypothesis on the satisfaction level was partially adopted. Meanwhile, the hypothesis on loyalty showed meaningful difference so it was wholly adopted.
The fourth hypothesis was on the satisfaction level and loyalty: "If the satisfaction level of the convention participant increases, the loyalty to the convention will also increase."Based on the analysis, the satisfaction level for program, surrounding environment and leisure experience showed no meaningful difference, so this hypothesis was also only partially adopted.
