Purpose: This study is aimed at organizing the vague concept of the post-traumatic growth and presenting the clear definition based on the analysis of the meaning and properties of the post-traumatic growth. Methods: This study uses Walker and Avant's (2005) method of concept analysis as a framework to analysis the concept of the post-traumatic growth. Results: The result of this study indicates that 1) Benefit, 2) Positiveness, 3) Acceptance 4) Improving relationships with others are attributes of the Post-traumatic growth with cancer patients. It was verified that benefit was trying to find the advantage that they gained something in hardship, positiveness was trying to gain positive feelings although they experienced painful situations, acceptance was to acknowledge the situation and find a means of cancer, improving relationships with others was to enhance communication or interaction with others. Conclusion: The exact understanding of the elements of posttraumatic growth in nursing area can devise an intervention to enhance the posttraumatic growth of cancer patient, it can be applied to a variety of nursing areas.
