This paper presents the study of connection for those Korean Christian immigrant parent-child relationships that experience a disconnection caused by their immigration and their experience of the existential reality of modern life where they must deal with multiple conflicting values, such as Korean and American values, Confucian values and feminist values, fluid and changeable values and relationships that change from loving to discordant parent-child relationships. In order to facilitate exploring the disconnection that occurs in some Korean Christian families, I point out three characteristics of connection for Korean Christian immigrant parent-child relationships. These three elements are first, inter-relating, second, multiple, fluid, changeable and third, just. Lastly, I borrow Brita L. Gill-Austern's definition of sacrifice for cultivating relationships that are just and connecting in a Korean Christian immigrant family, relationships that carefully consider each individual family's unique issues and dynamics. Based upon these three characteristics of connection, I propose a feminist pastoral theology of mutual sacrifice that empowers Korean Christian immigrant families to recreate a healthy Christian family environment that is mutually supporting and sacrificing as exemplified by the life of Jesus Christ.
