This study aimed to provide basic data for developing a systematic infection control education program against infections that may occur during face-to-face classes by identifying the preventive health behaviors of university students against COVID-19, which have spread around the world due to the increase in new infectious diseases. The data are collected from 130 students who are enrolled in a university located in C city through a questionnaire survey. Data collection are conducted from April 2021 to May 2021, and analyzed using SPSS 21.0. As a result, among the general characteristic, female students in their 20s accounted for the majority of the respondents, indicating that they were generally healthy and satisfied with school life. In addition, most of the students received infection education. However, the demand for additional infection education is high, so it is considered that additional education is necessary. Knowledge of COVID-19 showed a correct answer rate of 69.2%. Health beliefs averaged 3.72 points and preventive health behaviors averaged 4.09 points. In addition, the higher the health belief, the higher the preventive health behavior, so it is considered that continuous health education is required. However, at the present time when people are shouting for vaccination against COVID-19, there is a possibility that the awareness of the public about preventive health behavior according to the knowledge of the people will decrease, and the height of the shock of the crisis will gradually decrease, so social distancing and avoiding closed areas may not be followed well, continuous education is necessary.
