The purpose of this study is to develop a makeup design based on new material and method by using a 3D pen for a fashion show of Alexander McQueen. The methods used in this study were theoretical research and empirical research. For theoretical research, I investigated characteristics and makeup of the fashion shows of Alexander McQueen and concept and types of 3D pens. For empirical research, I examined the concepts and makeup trends found in the S/S shows between 2001 and 2017 that were held for the designer Alexander McQueen, based on websites related to fashion, and then, after selecting clothes for 2017S/S, wrote the job order before applying the makeup to a model’s face. The results showed that 3D pen is an affordable and easy-to-use method with which makeup artists can instantly create a desired result in the air. Therefore, it can help activate the beauty industry. In conclusion, developing makeup designs by using 3D pens is meaningful as it combines new materials and methods with IT and makeup design, and can provide a way to apply innovative technology to makeup design in the future.
