This thesis notes that the Korean Reformed Church, especially the Korean Presbyterian Church, has become an environment for delivering the misogyny discourse inherent in the Bible, Reformed Church tradition and the Western Christian culture in the soil of Confucian patriarchy. In order to break the conspiracy of these four factors, the Bible, the Reformed tradition (such as Sola Scriptura, sovereignty of God, emphasis on original sin and total depravity, and legalism), the Western Christian culture and the Confucian patriarchal culture, that can have fatal consequences for women's welfare and well-being, it is necessary to reinterpret the creation and law as they currently exist in the Reformed Church, especially in Calvin's theology. This is because the doctrine of law, which is apart from the doctrine of creation, leads to an excessively legalistic interpretation of Reformed theology, especially Calvin's theology, resulting in the exclusion of others, particularly women. In this paper three points will be brought to light. First, this paper demonstrates why misogyny matters at this moment in Korean churches and introduces young feminists in Korean society and churches resisting misogynic discourse, seeking instead gender equality. Second, it analyzes a complex context in which the aforementioned factors influence with each other, examining how it has strengthened misogynic tendencies within Korean Presbyterian churches. Finally, it suggests that the doctrine of creation and law of Calvin based on his pneumatology has a cure for this misogynic discourse in the Korean Presbyterian churches.
