With the expansion of the new financial market globally, the internet finance industry in China is also experiencing rapid development. To analyze the internet finance market in China, investigating the internet finance market in the United States is reasonably necessary to open up a new development road for Chinese finance. Thus, this study conducts a comparative analysis on the internet finance industry in China and the United States and proposes reasons for differences between China and the United States, including political factors, demand factors, and technical factors. Based on the above analysis and conclusion, this study puts forward policy measures to promote the sustainable development of the internet finance industry in China from the perspective of the government and internet financial institutions. The significance of this study lies in collating the development course of internet finance in China and the United States in a systematic way and analyzing differences in using internet finance and reasons for such differences.
