This study dealt with the problem of determining the location of the naval ship inspection considering the characteristics of the naval ships to best represent the combat readiness of the unit in consideration of the inspector's perspective during inspection. The problem of positioning the inspection of the navigation ship can be considered as a form of a two-dimensional layout problem considering the size of the facility. We present an mixed-integer programming(MIP) model for the problem of positioning the naval ship inspection and a heuristic technique that can obtain a solution in a short time. The effectiveness of the two techniques was analyzed by randomly generating various conditions for the numerical experiment. As a result of the analysis, it was found that it was effective to obtain the solution with the mixed-integer programming model when the number of naval ships was small, but it was more effective to use the heuristic technique as the number of naval ships increased.
