LiuXue(劉勰) presents a relatively complete and systematic theory of BiXing(比興) the first time in an organic relationship with the prequel of WenXinDiaoLong(文心雕龍), focusing on the WenXinDiaoLong(文心雕龍) BiXing(比興) section. LiuXue(劉勰) specifically clarifies the meaning and application characteristics of BiXing(比興) through an examination of the origin and historical transition process, which is an important issue in the theory of Chinese literature. Chapter 1 explains the meaning and characteristics of BiXing(比興) and the history of its use. Chapter 2 examines the process and method of thought into BiXing(比興) that naturally accompanies the literary and artistic conceptual process. Chapter 3 discusses BiXing(比興) as an expression technique and the principles of its use. Chapters 2 and 3 are discussions on ideas and expressions that proceed simultaneously in the process of literary creation, from the writer's point of view. In chapter 4, we discuss the aesthetic effects of works created in specific literary forms using thought and expression techniques of BiXing(比興), from the reader's point of view. The conclusion of this article reveals the characteristics and significance of the theory of BiXing(比興) by LiuXue(劉勰), which has a relatively complete system based on the above discussion.
