Purpose: The purpose of this study was to improve the quality of life of people with communication disabilities through recognition by the “AI speaker Kakao Mini” using the “text-to-speech application”. Methods: For two weeks, 8 people with communication disabilities are provided with a “Kakao Mini AI Speaker” and an AI speaker manual using “Read instead: Text-to-speech app” and respond to satisfaction surveys. Results: First, The subjects were the most frequently used functions in Kakao Mini, followed by ‘News’ 50%, weather notification 25%, music 12.5%, taxi use 12.5%, and so on. Second, Are you satisfied with using the ‘AI Speaker Kakao Mini’ by using the ‘text-to-speech app’? To the questionnaire on, very yes 62.5%, yes 25.0%, and average 12.5%, in that order, with the highest frequency of “very yes”. third, Are you willing to continue to use the ‘AI Speaker Kakao Mini’ by using the ‘Text-to-Speech App’? To the questionnaire on, very yes 25%, yes 37.5%, average 25%, no 12.5% responded in order, and the frequency of “yes” was the highest. fourth, Compared to before using the Kakao Mini, they answered the questionnaire about the improvement in the quality of life currently using the Kakao Mini in the order of 25% yes, 50% yes, and 25% average, showing the highest frequency of “yes”. Conclusions: In summarizing the results of this study, even those with communication disabilities who cannot use normal ‘voice’ can properly utilize the various functions of Kakao Mini by using the ‘Read instead: Text-to-Speech app’, which is why the subject"s Kakao Mini It was found that it not only led to high satisfaction with the use, but also contributed greatly to improving the quality of life.
