Purpose: A speech-language pathologist, also commonly known as a speech therapist, is responsible for mediating and rehabilitating patients with limited language skills in the communication process, working with people of all ages, from infants to the elderly. However, they have voice fatigue associated with their jobs as they use a variety of voices in the process. Therefore, this study was conducted to analyze the factors of a variety of voice in speech rehabilitation and to identify the status of voice hygiene and to produce data for systematic voice management. Methods: The study was conducted on 103 speech-language pathologist, currently working in the field, including hospitals, daycare centers, welfare centers and private centers. Results: First, when we investigated the voice fatigue felt by speech-language pathologists according to the type of speech disorder, they responded that they were more tired while dealing with infants, and those who had speech development disorders, moderate levels and autism spectra. Second, there was no case for their speed of speech to be accelerated in all areas. They also answered that their pitch increased for infants, speech development disorders, patients with moderate levels or non-ignition targets. In the case of speech intensity, they raised their voice when they managed the patients who were infants, or who had speech development disorders, those with moderate levels, and autism spectra. Third, when asked about the status of voice hygiene, 50.5% (n=52) of the therapists had voice hygiene, while 49.5% (n=51) of the respondents didn"t have it. If voice hygiene was not carried out, 47.1 percent (n=24) of the respondents said they did not know exactly about the related law. Conclusions: This study analyzed the causes of voice fatigue in speech rehabilitation and examined the actual condition of speech hygiene. Subsequent research shall be necessary that compare subjective voice fatigue with acoustical analysis factors (jitter%, shimmer%, NHR, SF0) in consideration of hormones, drugs, etc. that affect individual speech will help speech-language pathologists manage their speech.
