The purpose of this study is to analyze the research trends according to the spatial range of housing for the elderly in Korea. To collect data for analysis, a database provided by RISS was used and "Senior Residential Space Design" was set as the main word. Among the domestic journals from 2000 to 2021, only papers of KCI were extracted, while those not directly related to spatial design nor targetting elderly people were excluded. This study analyzed the research purpose, research method, keywords, spatial range, and publication timing. As a result of the study, most of the studies dealt with the entire space or did not specify space, while studies conducted on private spaces were relatively more than those on public spaces. Research on semi-private space and research on both semi-private and private space were insufficient. Research on private space was mainly studied during 2010 and 2012, and keywords related to universal design were mainly mentioned.. On the other hand, research on public space was most actively conducted recently (2019-2021) keywords related to community were mainly mentioned. This study can help setting the direction of future research related to housing for the elderly.
