The purpose of this study is to propose a new prototype for the aging new towns. The first new towns in Korea have simply occurred as a means to solve the shortage of housing supply that has followed along with the population increase in Seoul. At the time of the initial plan, the first new towns did not consider business facilities, and so far, it has become a city with a strong dependence on Seoul. As a result, the first new towns were reduced to bed towns. The future city that existing urban planners had drawn would not have been the same as it is now. Therefore, we propose the future of the ideal new city. It is a self-sufficient city where the number of shared spaces between neighbors increases, the number of communities increases, and the proximity of workplaces takes place. As time goes by, concepts such as “close to work” and “self-sufficient city” from the perspective of the city, and “pedestrian path”, “green space”, and “community” from the perspective of the living area are becoming important. In the future, cities should become cities that grow naturally, not cities that are dependent on other places, and among them, outer space should play a key role in containing urban activities. We need a city where anyone can interact and communicate naturally through open squares and walking paths, and a city where anyone, regardless of age, takes to the streets to live a healthy and happy life and participates in society.
