With the changing lifestyle of Chinese urban dwellers, the living room space, where diverse behaviors are concentrated in the living space, has become the space with the highest design demand from contemporary users. The alternative lifestyles of users and the diverse behaviors of family life have created new requirements for living room space. To understand the lifestyles and actual needs of modern Chinese metropolis residents, this paper will objectively record and analyze the daily life behaviors of dual-income families in Beijing, China through the user observation method. Afterward, the user behavior is summarized through typology, the problematic points and the current situation of living room usage in China are derived and the future direction of living room furniture design in China is derived.
