Drug delivery technology that delivers effective ingredients to the skin is being developed in combination with nanotechnology. In this study, a hybrid material combining polymer and lipid was prepared as a material for improving stability and skin permeability. The amphiphilic material used in the preparation of the polymer-lipid hybrid is a PEG-PCL-based copolymer and has both hydrophobic and hydrophilic functions, and may be prepared in various forms according to the characteristics of the block copolymer. A polymer-lipid hybrid is a self-assembled polymer double-layer vesicle consisting of a lipid-like biocompatible and biodegradable block copolymer amphiphilic medium. Various types of polymer-lipid hybrids can be manufactured in accordance with the characteristics of the block copolymer, and improved structural stability can be provided compared to liposomes and niosomes. Polymer-lipid hybrids are prepared by mixing a polymer with hydrogenated lecithin. It has the advantage of simultaneously pursuing lipid-like biocompatibility of liposomes and biodegradable properties of polymers by combining amphiphilic block polymers with phospholipid biocompatibility. The polymer and hydrogenated lecithin are mixed in an appropriate ratio and the ratio in which the change in the particle size is minimized over time is selected and dispersed with various oils. As the polymer content increases, the particle size of the polymer-lipid hybrid increases, and the zeta potential is in a stable state of –30 mV or more. The stability of liposomes was compared by collecting retinol, a representative unstable active substance in cosmetics, by selecting the most stable ratio and oil. It can be seen that the structures of the existing liposome and polymer lipid-hybrid are formed differently through an electron microscope, and that the structure is maintained without changing even when retinol is included. It can be seen that polymer-lipid hybrids form a stable structure through rheological and dispersion stability compared to liposomes and long-term temperature-specific content analysis. This study presents the possibility that polymer-lipid hybrids will secure technological competitiveness in the cosmetics industry as a new carrier.
