This study is aimed to understand the global data centers design trends, especially recent designed and built hyperscale data centers which are mainly used for global CSPs (Cloud Service Providers). Not like old traditional data centers which mainly invested and focused on reliability and robust, recent hyperscale data centers are evolved to provide dominant characteristics efficiently with reasonable cost such as agility, flexibility, scalability, modularity, software defined and energy efficiency to support rapid changing business and IT which is called digital transformation. In the result of those wind of change, modular design is now become common sense, flexible design is applied, raised floor, which has been considered as a symbol of server room, is removed, floor loading capacity is gradually increasing, higher density racks up to or more than 20㎾ is considered to accommodate, Although ASHRAE temperature guidelines are still being kept, operation temperature is increased to the upper limitation and Extreme efforts are made in various ways to maximize energy efficiency. All of these evolutions have occurred in response to changes in business and IT, and in order to predict the future data center, needs to understand business and IT requirement followed by its changes.
