The research area is the Taeanhaean National Park located from Hakampo to Bangpo beach. It is 84km long. The main areas of the National Park are Taean peninsula and Anmyun island. This area includes 10 beaches or sandy beaches. The 1:25,000 scale topographical map and geological map were used to investigate the coastal landscapes. Several field works have been also carried out to investigate the landscapes. The geology of this area consists of metamorphic sedimentary rocks and igneous rocks, and the topography is low mountain monadrock as the old stage.
The coastal landscapes are wavecut terrace, sea cliff ark sea stack which were formed from wave erosion in the headland, and sandy beach, beach, riffle mark, land tied island, tombolo and sand dune which were sedimented from dispersion of the wave energy in the bay. In the research areas, the sedimentary landform and erosional landform have been formed by strong wave from typhoon and north-west monsoon wind.
