This study presents a method of minimizing the input variables by simplifying zoning when calculating heating and cooling energy demand. This method was analyzed by comparing the result of the heating and cooling energy demand with the detailed calculation method requiring many input variables for each zone. The errors of the single or simple model to the detailed model in heating and cooling energy demand is analyzed for commercial facilities, business facilities, education & research facilities. As a result, simple model calculation method applying major and sub-usage profile can reduce the number of envelope inputs while providing appropriate results. It could be considered to be a time-efficient method.
