The purpose of this study is to identify major factors affecting the satisfaction of customers visiting commercial districts in which commercial district revitalization projects are in progress, and to suggest how policy measures should be established in order for the commercial district revitalization project to succeed in the future. The results of analysis are as follows. First, it was found out that the factors of customer characteristics, such as age, residence, number of purpose of visit, and number of methods of knowing commercial districts influenced customer satisfaction. Second, governance factors such as organizational operation type, number of local government officials, win-win agreement ratio, and number of projects linked to other ministries affected customer satisfaction. Third, it was found that the increase in the number of digital-related businesses rather reduced customer satisfaction. Fourth, the number of single-person households increased customer satisfaction, while the complexity of housing types decreased. Finally, an increase in the number of businesses within a 1km radius reduced customer satisfaction. Based on the analysis results, customer-tailored strategies, organizational operation and participation methods, and design directions considering the characteristics of the hinterland were presented. In addition, it was suggested that continuous management and monitoring of local governments are necessary for commercial districts to be activated.
