Botryosphaeria dothidea(B. dothidea) is a causal agent is commonly associated with stem canker, dieback, fruit and stem rot disease on various hosts worldwide. Typical symptoms of a small blister and brown-stained lesion usually appeared on the braches or stems of infected plants. In Korea, B. dothidea has been reported to causes a significatnt problem to several commercial crops including stone fruits. In early 2020, a symptom that sesembled B. dothidea infection was spotted on a plum tree in the cultivation area around Wanju-gun.
