This paper is an attempt to examine the disability of ancient Rome and shed new light on its perception. It is intended to answer the prejudice that ancient people with disabilities were perceived only as objects of persecution and discrimination, and to deliver a new perspective differentiated from existing knowledge. In the case of congenital disabilities, there were many abandonments of infants abandoned by their families. As this abandonment of infants is deeply embedded in the ancient image of the public, we look closely at the birth of childbirth and children with disabilities. We will study the perspective of looking at the congenital disorders that ancient Roman society had. Their stories will provide clues for the restoration of the ancient disabled. Through various sources, it was possible to examine the existence and life of disabled survivors in ancient Rome. Archaeological evidence and historical sources clearly inform Rome of the existence of ancient disabled people. They, too, tried to argue that they were playing a role within Roman society. It studies the Roman definition of the body at that time and the gaze toward disease and disability. The results of this study are expected to provide basic data for the study of disability history. It is important to recognize that people with disabilities have always existed throughout history and that we have always been active and important members of society, not just passively cared for. Through this paper, I hope to help understand new disabilities by looking at the history of ancient disabilities, which is an insufficient research field.
