Global warming is currently accelerating due to an increase in greenhouse gas emissions by industrialization. To reduce carbon dioxide, the main culprit of greenhouse gas, it has been recently reported microbial electrosynthesis (MES) using electroactive autotrophic microorganisms. However, there are still few cases of MES, and the molecular mechanisms are largely unknown. To investigate growth characteristics on MES, we carried out growth test according to reducing power sources in Rhodobacter sphaeroides.
