When wind turbine operates outside for a long time, various types of damages were found at leading edge of wind turbine blade. These damages were expected to affect operating conditions of wind turbine by changing aerodynamic characteristics in blade cross section, this study aims to investigate the effect of blade damage on performance and load changes of wind turbine. Damages due to erosion and contamination were mostly appeared on tip of blade, also in severe cases, blade damages were extended from tip to about one-third of blade. In this study, wind turbine for numerical analysis was selected as NREL 5-MW, which is used NACA64-618 as the tip airfoil. ... 전체 초록 보기
