Recent research has shown that most people in urbanized society spend over 90% of their lives at indoors among a day. Indoor air is generally more polluted than the air outside. The air pollutants over 300 volatile compounds (VOCs) have been found in indoor air, as well as gaseous toxicant such as nitrogen and carbon monoxide. Houseplants are not only decorative, but also improving the quality of indoor air. Eco-friendly houseplant was determined on their effectiveness in removing pollutant, and improving the quality of indoor air among common indoor plants. Houseplants improve the indoor environment with a two mechanism. Firstly, plants absorb or adsorb substances out of the stomata in their leaves. Secondly, the indoor environment is improved by plant emission such as phytochemical, anion, etc. Plants also, utilize their roots and associated microorganisms to purify indoor air. To grow eco-friendly houseplant in indoor is a very efficiency to improve the indoor environment.
