Examining the cultural facilities of each region is to seize the regional cultures of Korea objectively, and to contribute by using the result for the guidelines of cultural policy. As it becomes more localized and globalized, the point that the regional culture is valuable, as it is the important resource to enhance the regional competitiveness, means a lot. It is necessary to allocate the regional characteristics by the nation-wide point of view. The purpose of the research is to examine the present conditions of the cultural facilities, and to propose allocation of characteristics of regional museums by considering the peculiarities of regional cultures. And classification systems of the cultural facility types, in case by ministry of culture and tourism, are performance facilities, exhibition facilities, cultural welfare facilities, and libraries.
