The lighting energy consume ratio of commercial and public building is more over 30%. So saving the lighting energy means that there save the electric energy and diminishes the cooling load. Thus the priority of saving lighting energy becomes the saving energy issue. When the importance of natural lighting was known for psychologically and chemically good effect, the natural lighting system was applied aggressive. The potential power of lighting and cooling energy by the sun light makes the chance to developing the high performance light shielding system. The natural energy resource which makes no environmental pollution is the sun light. And also that is inexhaustible natural resources and it’s free. Thus, using the sunlight at the building makes the building energy use down and visual lighting environment improved.The result of evaluating the light shelf natural lighting system performance; light shelf makes the interior luminous intensity homogeneous and induce the natural light to the deep side of the room effective. Thus, if light shelf would be installed to the any buildings, there could be reduced the lighting energy by improving lighting interior environment and suitable interior luminous intensity. Especially, Light-shelf would be effective used for deep style room (W/D ratio); office building, plant, educational building. And Light-shelf can be also effective used for preventing the direct sun-light glare. In this experiment, the glare occurrence problem was detected at the window above the light-shelf which needs the more studies to make more effective one. The study needed that the keeping the light shelf performance with suitable exterior design. And it must be stable at outdoor conditions. Thus, this study suggests that it should be developed by the association which consists of academy, industry, and laboratory.
