In the process of industrialization of Korea in 1970's, domestic housing strategy has focused on housing supply. Rapid completion and supply of apartment house buildings have caused problem of their early deterioration due to their poor quality. So remodeling and reconstruction have been considered to deal with such problems. Between them, remodeling has been known as a countermeasure to improve indiscriminate construction behavior in the aspect of environment and economy. But shortage of will remodeling policy and detailed action method, deficiency of experience performing remodeling project and construction, and understanding of remodeling demanders accustomed to profit of reconstruction are difficulties in performing apartment building remodeling business. In order to solve the problems, we focus on the remodeling system that includes finance and taxation,, maintenance of apartment housing, remodeling associated with the code, resource quality and standard plan. This study, which being compared with the foreign remodeling system, presents the improvement scheme of system for apartment housing remodeling. For the investigation on the owners of apartment house, surveys and visit consultations were executed to study. And we draw 5 conclusions on the activity method for apartment housing remodeling.
