This study was conducted to collect basic material(data) for distribution of proper education hour to the mechanical gymnastics subject by comparative-analyzing a scholastic achievement degree by learning time unit, after giving fourth and sixth grade students the risk of `leg-hanging climbing' and `upside-down climbing' on the horizontal bar, in the mechanical gymnastics area of current elementary school physical education curriculum. The results of this study could be summarized as follows; First, from the comparison of scholastic achievement degree in the horizontal bar exercise in accordance with learning time by grade and school year, it's found that in the area of `leg-hanging climbing', the average mark of six grade boy students was comparatively high, and the one of four grade girl students were high too. In the area of `upside-down climbing', scholastic achievement degree of both the boy & girl students of fourth grade was higher than that of sixth grade students. Second, from the comparison of scholastic achievement degree in the horizontal bar exercise by school year and gender, it's found that boy students were high in the average mark, an improvement degree was slightly higher for girls than that of boys. However, there was no significant difference statistically. Third, in the area of `leg-hanging climbing', 70% of students attainted to their learning goal with learning time of 3 hours, but in the area of `upside-down climbing', students remained in the 50% level of scholastic achievement degree in spite of giving leaning time of 6 hours, twice as much as that of `leg-hanging climbing area'.
